Chaplain Pat Dew was born in Youngstown, Ohio. The family moved to Orange County, California where Pat attended Grade School, High School and College. She obtained a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.
She lived and worked in Anaheim and Long Beach California. Throughout her life she was in leadership positions in Health Care and Education. Although focused in Health care, Pat has always felt a calling into Ministry. Working with a Chaplain at Anaheim Memorial Hospital would have an impact on her decisions later.
In 1989 she came to live in Madisonville, Kentucky and to work with Trover Health Systems. During this time she assisted with the development of a Sleep Center, Asthma Clinic and Camp while focusing on Patient Safety. Pat also had the opportunity to help establish a Hospital Spiritual Team.
Chaplain Pat’s family had all moved to Oregon, including her Daughter Cindy. In 1999 her Father passed away with Cancer and then three months later her Mother also went on to be with the Lord. After the loss of her Mother her daughter Cindy came to live with her in Madisonville. In 2007, Pat loss her Sister to Pancreatic Cancer. Following all of this loss, Pat found out she had been adopted at the age of six months.
Following the death of her sister her work career door was closed but God opened the door for her ministry. She attended Church of God Community Chaplain training was Certified and continued to get Certification in Ministry. Pat feels things happen to all of us, it is what we allow God to do with it that counts.
Although focused in Pastoral Care, Pat has a passion for Chaplaincy with the vision to educate additional Chaplains for the work place and community. Chaplain Pat thanks her Godly parent for the foundation, so later in life she would not depart. She states, “ Listen, when God calls go, it does not matter your age, he will provide.”
